On June 20, 2023, LAUSD school board approved and revised the school calendars for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school year. The first day of instruction for the 2023-2024 school year will be Monday, August 14, 2023.

The last day of school for Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is June 11, 2024. In the 2024-2025 school year, LAUSD has 32 days of holidays when school is not in session, plus the entire summer! The LAUSD single-track instructional calendar offers 180 school days, two pupil-free teacher preparation days, and federal, state and district holidays.

Schools and properties. LAUSD has 219 year-round schools and 439 schools on the traditional calendar.

Schools across Los Angeles Unified will be open for Summer School from June 20 to July 19, 2024, to provide enrichment and personalized academic support for our students.

Winter and Spring Break days are included as part of the basis days for non A-basis classified employees and are pre-loaded on the monthly calendar as winter (WV*) or spring (SV*) vacation days, based on assigned hours. They are NOT paid holidays for classified employees but are designated “required vacation” days.
