Tyler Joan Carolyn Bennett 1943 — 2024 Joan Bennett went to be with her heavenly Father, May 17, 2024. She was born April 21, 1943, to Ruth Mangum Hibbitt and Thomas Howard Hibbitt in Corpus Christi, Texas. The family returned to Tyler in 1945, whereupon her mother went to work for the Ramirez Family at Gilbert's El Charo Caf?. She spent many happy hours following her mom around the restaurant. At age 17 she joined the Army. After basic training in Alabama, she was stationed in Chicago, Illinois, where she met the man she would eventually marry. She was born on Sunday, May 5, 1940 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to William Arthur and Fanny Lorraine Bell. She married Phillip Stanley Martin on September 20, 1959, and enjoyed 58 wonderful years of marriage. Joyce worked in banking for over 40 years and in that time made a deep impression on everyone she met. She was a proud member of Flint Baptist Church and the Hot Rod Bunch.
