MacNEIL, Tatum MacNeil – Obituary
MacNEIL, Tatum - (April 15, 1980- August 20, 2016) -
It is with profound and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tatum Macneil, on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the age of 36 years.
Tatum fought a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer and never gave up at any single moment. With her partner Tommy at her bedside she passed away peacefully.
Predeceased by her mother Heather Emberly (nee Copan).
Survived by her life partner Tommy Larocque, her sister Michelle MacNeil, her step-father Mike Willmott and many other friends and family, including Tommy's mother Diane Browne, who loved her as another daughter.
She will be sadly missed by many, including her cherished canine companion Cujo.
Tatum was my best friend, my partner, my soul mate, my love and I miss her very, very much.
She was a proud graduate of Downward Dog Yoga (Toronto). Tatum was an avid swimmer and lifeguard and had a great love for horses. She always looked forward to riding, particularly with her friends Kim and Julia.
She was proud to compete as a novice equestrian. Her favourite horse was Umber whom she could never wait to spend time with.
Tatum had a soft spot for all animals, often going out of her way to save them from harm. Tatum was blessed to spend her winters in St. Maarten in the Caribbean; the beach, the sun and her friends made her very happy.
A special thank you to Kim Mustill, Julia Ross and family, Mike Willmott and Lydia Tordicilla for all your extra support. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Sunnybrook, Mackenzie Health Palliative Care and CCAC for helping her feel so well cared for.
Tatum's Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Marlowe Restaurant & Wine Bar, www.themarlowe.ca, located at 155 York Blvd., Unit 1, Richmond Hill, ON.
A private burial service will be held at a later date in Montreal, Quebec.
If desired, memorial contributions may be sent to the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (www.oicr.on.ca) or to the I Love My Island Dog shelter, St. Maarten (www.ilovemyislanddog.org).
Online condolences can also be left at aftercare.org and will be much appreciated.
